Admissions

We are delighted you are considering applying for a place at our school for your child/ren. Applying for a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make and we would encourage all parents to visit the school before they make an application for their child/ren to join St Bernadette's Catholic Primary School.

Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

The main round for Admissions into Reception Class 2025 opens on 1st November 2024 and close on 15th January 2025

Parents should complete their applications online via the Hampshire County Council Website.  Parents should also complete the St Bernadette's Supplementary Information form which is available below.

Parents who are applying for their child to attend St Bernadette's under faith criteria are reminded that the Supplementary Information Form should be completed and returned to the school before the closing date for admissions. Parents are welcome to contact Hampshire County Council for more information about admission arrangements at St Bernadette's on 0300 555 1377 or at admissions.team@hants.gov.uk.

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form at Hampshire County Council - Education Online Portal and completing a Supplementary Information Form (part of the admissions arrangements) and returning it to Miss V Ryan via the school office.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2022-2023, will be applied Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.  If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.  You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.  If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact Miss V Ryan via the school office.  You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority via email at admissions.team@hants.gov.uk or by telephone at 0300 555 1377.
