Year 3 - Parks Class
We would like to welcome you to Parks Class. Our teacher is Miss McCue and our LSA is Mrs Vaas. Our additional adults are Miss Green and Miss Williams.
This term our learning journey in History is Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age Britain, rivers and Brazil in Geography, plants and animals in Science, and Prehistoric painting in Art.
During our class novel time we will be reading a range of exciting books and the children will have the opportunity to vote for their class novels, which will be shared as a whole class.
Please ensure your child’s reading diary and reading book comes into school every day.
Please also ensure that your child brings a water bottle with them each day.
Monday – Spelling test
Tuesday – PE day. Please remember to come to school in your PE kit including jogging bottoms.
Wednesday – Spellings set and homework set on Google Classroom.
In Year 3 we don’t have a specific day for show and tell. However, if the children receive something they are very proud of or have something that is linked to our learning, they are very welcome to bring this into school, and we will share as a class.

We follow Lighting the Path (the Portsmouth Diocese scheme of learning). The children learn two and half hours of RE per week in lower KS2 and are involved in Collective Worship.
Things that help us learn
We use MyMaths and Times Table Rock Stars to support children’s home learning and we will be continuing to use Google Classroom as our online learning platform in Key Stage 2. Reading books are sent home on a weekly basis which are pitched at your child’s current reading ability. Weekly spellings are sent home to consolidate the SPaG rules the children have been learning that week.
