Our Teacher is Mrs Turner and our Learning Support Assistant is Mrs O'Shea
At the moment, we are learning all about rivers. This will include identifying some features of a river as well as learning how they grow. We will also learn about the importance of the water cycle in relation to rivers and their continual flow of water. We are reading ‘A River’ by Marc Martin to support us in our English work and our class novel is The Water Horse by Dick King-Smith
A normal day in our class

Foundation Subjects - these areas of the curriculum include RE, Science, Geography/History, Art/DT, Computing, French, PE and Music
Our outdoor PE session is every Tuesday. Please remember to come to school in your PE kit including jogging bottoms.
We follow God Matters in Religious Education (the Portsmouth Diocese scheme of learning). The children learn two and a half hours in Year 3 and 4. Our thematic topic learning (history, geography, art, design and technology) generally occurs in the afternoons.
Things that help us learn
We use Timetable Rockstars, Mathletics and Oxford Reading Owl to support our home learning. We have established the use of Google Classroom as our online learning platform in Years 3 and 4. This is also where homework assignments will be posted.
Our Curriculum Map
In Year 3 and 4, this year, we will learn about Rivers, Saxons & Vikings, Rainforests and a local history study of Farnborough as well as many more exciting things! Take a look at our Curriculum Maps to see what we are going to learn about throughout our journey this year.
This year we are looking to visit Ufton Court to develop understanding of Vikings along with The Living Rainforest. We are also exploring the possibility of an overnight stay at Runway’s End for our Year 4 children. We will of course keep you posted of any further developments.
