Shakespeare Class

Welcome to Shakespeare Class

Our Teachers are Mrs Dixon and Mrs Matthews and our Learning Support Assistants are Mrs Francis, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Lester.

At the moment, we are learning all about Heroes and Happily Ever After. We follow this theme throughout the half term but we may also follow learning from the children’s other interests. We read a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books which often link to our topic.

A normal day in Shakespeare class would look like this

Our outdoor PE session is every Wednesday. Please remember to have your PE kit, including jogging bottoms, in school every day. Please take out any earrings and ensure you are wearing uniform that you can easily take on and off.

We follow the Portsmouth Diocese scheme of learning, ‘God Matters’, in Religious Education. In EYFS the children have two hours of RE per week.

Things that help us to learn

In Year R we use Oxford Reading Owl to support home learning and Tapestry as our online learning journal.  Photos are regularly posted onto Tapestry to show the learning we are doing in school. Parents can also use this platform to comment on any observations and to add any of their own observations from learning that has taken place outside of school.

Our Curriculum Web

In EYFS, we learn about Ourselves, Things that Grow, Traditional Tales and more! Take a look at our curriculum webs to see what we are going to learn about throughout our EYFS journey.

Usually, in EYFS, we go to the Post Office, visit the local park, travel to Fleet Pond by train and spend a day at RHS Wisley. However, owing to the pandemic, we are unable to undertake any of our normal trips. We will keep you updated if there are any changes and if we are able to go on any virtual visits.

If you have any questions or there is anything urgent that you think we need to know, please contact the School Office either by phone at 01252 548123 or by email at
