Rushmoor and Hart Primary Schools' Sports Awards

The annual Hart & Rushmoor Schools' Sports Awards took place on Tuesday 11th July at Samuel Cody Specialist Sports College.  This is a special evening designed to recognise and celebrate sporting achievements within local schools. Three members of the school community were nominated for an award this year.

We are pleased to announce that Bella Chadd won the Determination and Courage Award for her many achievments in Brazilian Jujitsu.

Determination & Courage

An INDIVIDUAL who has shown determination and courage to improve or succeed to achieve their goal, to overcome obstacles and to conquer adversity, pushing oneself beyond expectations and accomplishing the unexpected.

Bella started BJJ(Brazilian Jujitsu) when she was 7 and she is now 9 years old. During this time she has been to many competitions including the British National BJJ Championships and has won 13 medals in total.  She has 5 gold,3 silver and 5 bronze medals.

This sport is a self-defence sport, although she has been injured many times she didn’t give up and has improved her skills to achieve her goal.

She has been an amazing inspiration to many children in our school with her determination and success.

Inspiration

An INDIVIDUAL ADULT OR COACH who has shown inspiration and commitment in leadership as part of the school community. Someone who has inspired others through PE/School Sport, applying their personal affection for sport to enthuse others.

Mr Glover

Mr Glover has worked at St Bernadette's school for over two years now. He coaches all children from Reception to Year 6. Furthermore, he coaches football after school on Friday’s. He has a wonderful rapport with the children, and the standard of P.E. lessons has grown across the school.

He owns the coaching company In2Sport which demonstrates his commitment to teaching children P.E.  He is very reliable and will travel from Bracknell to take our children to football matches.  He would make a wonderful winner for the inspiration award.

Jack Piper

Jack is an enthusiastic and excellent football player. He has been chosen for specialist teams and has recently travelled to Lisbon to compete in a special tournament. His team came third place. When participating in PE, he encourages his team mates and is focused on the activity rather than the winning. He is an exceptional sportsperson who shows commitment and enthusiasm for his sport.
